Ghana keeps World Cup hope alive with 5-1 win over Congo
Ghana have revived their 2018 World Cup hopes, beating Congo resoundingly with the final score reading 5-1.
Ghana won comfortably today having scored 3 goals in the 1st half, starting with 1 goal by Boakye-Yiadom followed by 2 goals from the brilliant Thomas Partey who was on fire today.
In the 2nd half, Partey scored yet again in 69′ minutes to secure his hat-trick.
Boakye-Yiadom also scored again getting his brace in the 83′ minutes of the game.
But Ghana is not yet out of the woods yet, now that the Black Stars have beat Congo in Brazzaville today, they need Uganda to hold Egypt in Alexandria in their match later today in order to bring their 2018 FIFA World Cup ambition back on track.
Ghana Black Stars have had a torrid time in the recent past and hopefully, this win will put them back on the right track.
Coach Kwesi Appiah made five changes in the first Eleven with Joseph Attamah Larweh, Jeffrey Schlupp, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Asamoah Gyan all being dropped.
To add fuel to the fire, the Black Stars were left stranded upon arrival at the airport for 3 hours, because they needed clearance from immigration.
So the Black Stars have delivered a crucial victory in style, but will they make it to the 2018 World Cup?
