The Equality Of COVID-19; A time for Political Repentance- Emmanuel Ajarfor writes

The future of war will be biological in nature and should the very people we count on for a cure and donations turn out to be our attackers, Africa is doomed. We will be wiped out before we can say another prayer.

The deadly bug and the toll of rising global deaths is enough reason for our African governments to invest in their homeland, science and technology to prepare adequately for what lies ahead. This is because the global statistics indicate that the West is struggling more than we are with the COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes countries where our political leaders at the least sign, run to seek medical treatment for even common flu and headache. Most of these countries are on lock down with their borders shutting us out. This situation should by now tickle the ears of African leaders to realise that the days of flying abroad for first class medical treatment is over with the advent of COVID-19, and that should they get infected with COVID-19, there will be nowhere to fly to.

They will be quarantined here together with the ordinary voter. COVID-19 will show them where power lies. COVID-19 will teach them lessons as bad leaders. COVID-19 will have no mercy on them. COVID-19 will let their families distance themselves from them. COVID-19 may kill them if they have a history of chronic diseases. Their days will virtually be numbered.

The West is becoming the worst ― the time for Africa to invest in medical research and healthcare delivery is now! Prayer is only potent when backed with solid effort and work, towards a solution.

David, in our biblical lessons, did not defeat Goliath with prayers. It didn’t mean David didn’t know what prayers alone can do.
