President Nana Akufo-Addo has nominated Dr. John Kofi Mensah for an appointment as the new Managing Director of Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).

The President has therefore directed the Finance Ministry to take the necessary steps to regularise his appointment with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act and the Company’s Regulation.

Dr. John Kofi Mensah is the Executive Chairman of Family Fountain Assets and Securities Limited.

He is an accomplished Banker with over 25 years’ experience.

He started his banking career with the now defunct Bank for Housing and Construction as an Economic and Research Officer and later as a Treasury Officer.

Dr. Kofi Mensah moved to the Securities Discount House in 1995 as a Deputy Chief Money Market Dealer in 1996. He joined International Commercial Bank as the Manager for Treasury and Foreign Operations.

By dint of hard work, he rose to become the General Manager Operations and later on the Deputy Chief Executive of the Bank.

He then joined Unibank as the General Manager Operations.

Once again, he rose to become the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank.

In 2011, he resigned to become the Chief Executive Officer of First Capital Plus with the mandate to propel the company to achieve Universal Banking status.

He successfully assisted the company to obtain a Class I License in November 2012 from the Bank of Ghana.

Dr. Kofi Mensah holds a First Degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana and a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from FinAfrica in Milan with an excellent grade, cum laude.

He has a Doctorate in DBA Finance From Swiss Management Centre University in Switzerland.

He holds various certificates from courses and seminars in Europe and Asia over the past twenty years.

He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (FIPM) in the United Kingdom.

He served as Director at the Enyan Denkyira Rural Bank, Cocoa Processing Company Limited and Family Fountain Asset Management & Securities Ltd.
