Kadjebi is Ready to Accommodate You- Nana Kwaku Duah Invites the Nation


The Krontihene of Kadjebi Traditional Area, Nana Kwaku Duah II, ahead of the funeral, has assured that various arrangements have been made to ensure the comfort and security of sympathetizers who will join in the final burial rites of the late Nana Ogyeabour Akompi Finam II, at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

The Krontihene emphasized the need for the nation’s participation in the burial rites of their late Paramount Chief (Omanhene), saying they are ready to attend to the needs of each and everyone who joins the royal family in Kadjebi to mourn and bury Nana Ogyeabour Akompi Finam II.

“What you will drink, eat and where you will lay your head is nothing to worry about. Our arms are widely opened to welcome the whole country”. Nana Kwaku Duah reiterated.

He however, entreated all and sundry to be at the funeral which has been scheduled for December 4th to 9th in Kadjebi, to witness the pure Akan tradition in the new Oti region, especially Kadjebi.

About Nana Ogyeabour Akompi Finam II, Late Chief of the Kadjebi Traditional Area

Born Joseph Kwaku Akompi in 1941, and installed as Paramount Chief of Kadjebi Traditional Area on April 28, 1985, Nana Akompi II, was a retired Lt Col. in the Ghana Army.

He served as a Secretary to Gen. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, a military Head of State, from January 13, 1972 to July 5, 1978, and was a member of the Constitutional Commission of 1978.

The Late Akompi Finam II, also served as the Volta Regional Representative of the Council of State of the Republic of Ghana, under former President John Agyekum Kuffuor’s government.

He was a product of Mawuli Senior High School and completed in 1961, before entering the Ghana Military Academy at Teshie, and passed out as Second Lieutenant on March 14, 1963.
