The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has commended the Manya-Krobo Traditional Area, for maintaining and safeguarding its cultural heritage.

Dr. Bawumia pointed out that Manya-Krobo is one of the traditional areas in the country that has maintained it’s cultural significance.

Speaking at the Grand Durbar of the 2019 Ngmayem Festival dubbed “Culture; the bedrock of promoting unity and development”, the Vice President stated that culture is a powerful driver of development.

Dr. Bawumia added that the Festival will give Lower Manya-Krobo the opportunity to have a conversations about the needs of it’s progress and challenges, and how to focus in the future for transformation.

The Grand Durbar was attended by dignities such as the Municipal Chief Executive of Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Minister, Member of Parliament for the area and other government appointees.
