The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu, has commended President Nana Akufo-Addo for enhancing infrastructure development in the Bekwai Constituency.
He explained that the projects (some completed and others ongoing) stood a chance of improving economic activities in the area which would in the long run lead to improvement in the standard of living of the people when handed over to the beneficiary communities.
Mr Osei-Owusu, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, made this known to this reporter at Bekwai, in the Ashanti Region after he had inspected some project sites to ascertain the state of various development projects in the constituency.
The two-day tour took the MP to communities like the Kensere-Pampaso, Ofoase Kokoben, Poano, Kokofu, Amoamo and the Bekwai township.
The MP inspected the ongoing tarring of the 15-kilometre roads in the Bekwai township.
At Poano, the MP and his entourage inspected ongoing water projects as well as a 12-seater bio-digester water closet with a solar mechanised borehole system for the Denyaseman Catholic SHS between Poano and Huntado.
The team also went to Amoamo where it inspected ongoing works on a CHPS compound with all ancillaries at Amoamo and Anwiam and later went to inspect Community Water Project at Ofoase Kokoben and Kensere Pampaso.
He said that the CHPS compounds at Amoamo had been completed and handed over to the assembly while three others at Ntinanko, Bodoma and Asakyiri were yet to be operational with equipment and money given to the Municipal Health Directorate.
The MP said the Bekwai hospital project was progressing steadily as the contractor had been given 18 months to complete and hand it over.
Mr Osei-Owusu advised Ghanaians to pay their taxes since that was what the government used in the construction of the much needed projects to improve the living conditions of the citizenry.
He advised political opponents that they had every right to criticise but they should be honest to tell the people the truth.
He lauded the people of the Bekwai Municipality for voting for him as the MP and pledged that he was ready to compete with whoever came to contest him during the upcoming primary.
