$100 million target Achievable-CEO assures; As NEIP hits $50 million in 2 Years


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), Mr. John Kumah, has assured that the USD $100 million investment target set by the President Akufo-Addo, from the USD$10 million seed fund to promote start-ups businesses, is feasible and achievable for NEIP, as he recounts successes chalked in 2 years under the initiative.

According to Mr. John Kumah, NEIP has been able to leverage on the USD$10 million to raise USD$50 million, indicating that the USD$100 million target set by the President is achievable and necessary to open up opportunities and markets for Ghanaian start-up businesses.

The NEIP in the past two years (2 yrs), he said, have supported more than 10,000 businesses with a number of services, and inviting the international communities to support the initiative as they race towards raising the USD$100 million.

He disclosed this in an interaction with officials of the Spanish Government and business leaders at the Spain Ghana Business forum in Spain.

The CEO also outlined the President’s commitment through the Ministry of Business Development, by giving NEIP USD$10 million seed fund to assist and expand start-ups, micro, small and medium scale businesses in Ghana.

“We want to give life to the numerous brilliant business ideas we receive on a daily basis and you can make it happen”. Mr. Kumah indicated, as he emphasized the need for them to invest in NEIP projects.
