A driver, Emmanuel Kyei, has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl.

The Accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The facts as read by the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, are that, the Complainant, Elizabeth Mensah is a trader and aunt to the Victim, where as the Accused is a co-tenant to the Complainant where they reside at Russia.

On 23rd September, 2018 at about 9:00pm, the Complainant’s daughter by name Deborah, informed the Complainant abouy suspicion of someone inserting his finger into the Victim’s vagina and anus.

When the Victim was questioned, she informed the Complainant that it was the Accused, Emmanuel, who has been inserting his finger and penis into her vagina and anus.

A report was made to the Dansoman Police and a police medical form was issued to the Complainant to send the Victim to hospital for examination and treatment.

On 26th September, 2018 the medical report received stated that the Victim had been sexually abused and her hymen had been broken.

The Accused person was subsequently arrested.
