‘Assisting in the delivery of 2 Siblings’ earned My Respect for Midwifery-Hon. Vanderpuije
Expressing his immense love, respect and commitment to Health Care Delivery, especially on how midwifery services and duties are discharged, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije recounted how he played a role of a midwife and aided in the delivery of a sibling and a nephew.
Having such a wonderful experience in saving the life of both a mother and child, He said, is more than enough to know and understand what midwives go through in their line of work, at the expense of discharging their duties.
Hon. Vanderpuije made this stunning revelation, when the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Associations-Greater Accra Branch (GRNMA-GAR) awarded him a Citation of honour, in acknowledging his dedication, commitment, loyalty and support to the Association, his Constituents and health service of Ghana.
He reitereated his desire to assist and to always avail himself to the Associations, anytime he is called upon to be able to commend them in their respective roles in the health care delivery.
“I always look for that opportunity to join the nurses and the midwives on occasion when invited, so that somebody can say thank you and Ayekoo on what you do for us everyday in our hospitals, both public and private”. He professed.
Acknowledging the presence of the Association, Hon. Vanderpuije expressed excitment to deepening their work relationship, and assured them of a lifetime commitment in his capacity as a good human being as well as Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South.
He therefore pledged his unflinching support to the Association in terms of honouring invitations, supporting them with projects and fundraising, to advance the course of its objective and in the delivery of its services.
“As a person, you have distinguished yourself in the promotion and practice of health services. Your contributions to the Nursing profession in Ghana, and to the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association never be over emphasized”. The citation read.
