Men of God Should Emulate Onyinah’s Leadership; Stop Romancing With Politics-Hon. Nii Lantey
The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo Constituency Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has adviced Leadership of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches to emulate the immediate-past Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Opoku Onyinah of his humility, discipline and contributions to the growth of his Church and to the country as whole.
According to him, instead of directing focus on the development of the churches and spirituality of their congregation, some Leaders of the Orthodox churches have resorted to making unacceptable socio-political statements and romancing with politics, even when their walls are breaking and flocks going astray.
“I have not heard or seen the leadership of Pentecost being politically biased as seen of some of our Orthodox daddies. When they forget about the development of the Church and the spirituality of their congregations and romance with politics. Making unacceptable and unfortunate socio – political statements when their walls are breaking and flock going astray”. The Odododiodioo Legislator reiterated.
Hon. Vanderpuye, however described Apostle Opoku Onyinah as a transformational leader who has moved the Church of Pentecost to a new level, by increasing the numbers in terms of membership and exploiting congregations across the world.
He said Apostle Onyinah’s diligent service to both the Church of Pentecost and the nation, is commendable and worthy emulating.
“The testimonies of an exciting growth in the spirituality of the Pastorial class as well as the other office holders and leadership is ample testimony of his wonderful leadership of the Church”. He acknowledged.
Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye made this observation after his visit to the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region, with the Former President and Presidential Candidate of the NDC John Dramani Mahama, in a colourful sendoff event on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
This comes after it was revealed that the Church from its own resources, has built a whole centre of religious excellence, which includes Three (3) large auditoriums fitted with the state of the art equipment, Six (6) huge blocks of residential accommodation of 20 flats each, and a Four (4) huge blocks of residential accommodation for their theogical students.
Other facilities includes conference rooms, Construction of a 30,000 church auditorium underway, as well as Restaurants and hospitality.
These achievements and ongoing projects which have so far consumed close to $137m, came soley from the Church coffers, all under the abled leadership of the immediate-past chairman.
Apostle Opoku Onyinah’s sendoff ceremony after 42 years of successful ministry, was attended by high profile personalities from all over the world, including former President John Dramani Mahama, ministers of state, parliamentarians, chiefs and heads of churches and para-church organisations.

Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye Writes…
Folks, I was so excited to have gotten the privilege to see what the Pentecost Church and good leadership could do to society.
I was totally dumbfounded by the Pentecost Church and Apostle Onyina’s story that I renewed my belief that the Church has not yet unleashed her full potential on society. The Church from its own resources and not even special offering has built a whole centre of religious excellence.
1.3 Large auditoriums fitted with the state of the art equipment.
2. 6 Huge blocks of residential accommodation of 20 flats each.
3. 4 Huge blocks of residential accommodation for their theogical students.
4. Conference facilities
5. Restaurants and hospitality
6. Construction of a 30,000 church auditorium is on going .
All these have so far consumed close to 137 million dollars. All from the Church coffers.
They have in the interim put the rest of their over 40 hectares of undeveloped land under cashew and mango cultivation.
Anybody who sets his foot at the Convention Centre would be struck with the beauty of the well managed environment.
As I paced up and down the Church auditorium yesterday, I saw what a transformational leader Apostle Onyina has been. He has moved the Pentecost Church to a new level. Dramatic explosion in the number of congregations across the world. Unprecedented increase in numbers in terms of membership.
The testimonies of an exciting growth in the spirituality of the Pastorial class as well as the other office holders and leadership is ample testimony of his wonderful leadership of the Church.
The humility, respect and discipline that have characterised his personality is not restricted to him. The whole leadership and most members I interacted with during my four to five hours there yesterday espoused the same notable characteristics.
I wouldn’t be truthful to myself if after my ” pilgrimage” yesterday courtesy John Mahama, I am unable to ask the question, what are the other Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches doing to snatch leadership of spirituality and development of society from the orthodox churches who have become stale and sinile after their initial aggressive impact with education and health in this Country. I have not heard or seen the leadership of Pentecost being politically biased as seen of some of our Orthodox daddies. When they forget about the development of the Church and the spirituality of their congregations and romance with politics. Making unacceptable and unfortunate socio – political statements when their walls are breaking and flock going astray , one is tempted to say today. ” Go to Apostle Onyina and the Church of Pentecost. Learn their ways and be wise”. May the Almighty God bless us all.
