Education Minister rubbishes media reports on teacher licensing

The Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has denied and rubbished media report that the Ministry of Education will start licensing teachers very soon.

According to the Minister, he has not on any platform said anything about teacher licensing.

“Since I became a minister, I have not on any public platform talked, spoken, asked anything about teacher licensing”. He emphasized.

Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh disclosed this, when speaking at the 12th National Delegates Conference of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) in Kumasi.

Though the National Teaching Council has started engaging stakeholders on the issues of licensing and appraisal system, the Minister denied the implementation of the system and rather launched a scathing attack on the media in Ghana describing them as Fake news producers.
