Ghana to Sign 5-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Equatorial Guinea
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is expected to sign a government-to-government Heads of Agreement with his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), from Equatorial Guinea to Ghana, for a period of 5 years.
The signing of the agreement is expected to take place in the course of a 3-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea by President Akufo-Addo, from Monday, August 21, to Wednesday, August 23, by the invitation of President Obiang Mbasago.
The execution of this agreement is intended to augment domestic supply over the period, and improve further Ghana’s power situation, both for local consumers and industry.
