GBA sets up Fund for Isaac Aryee’s recovery expenses


The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has set up the Isaac Aryee Fund, to solicit for funds to assist in footing all the medical bills and payment of admission, drugs, post surgery, and physiotherapy arising from the injuries suffered by the boxer, Isaac Aryee after an unfortunate accident a couple of days ago.

According to a press release signed by the President of the GBA, Mr. Peter Zwennes, they took the laudable decision to set up this fund to appeal for assistance from friends of Sports, boxing and the general public.

He said, apart from the surgery bill which the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo Constituency Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye had already donated to the GBA, there are other post surgery bills that the boxer will have to contend with.

Already the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have also set the pace by paying GH¢14,000 for the surgery which the boxer underwent successfully.

So, the GH¢14,000 donation made earlier by the Former Minister of Youth & Sports and Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo Constituency where most boxers come from, will be used to utilized for some of the post surgery and physiotherapy expenses. The statement reveals.

The GBA therefore expressed gratitude to the Ministry, the MP for the Odododiodioo Constituency Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye and NSA for their timely support.

How can one contribute to this setup fund?

The donations can be made to either Mr. Patrick Johnson at the GBA office at the Accra Sports Stadium with telephone numbers, or call him on 0244201628 / 0209616717 / 0207388388,  or to Naa Darkua Dodoo, PRO of the GBA also on telephone numbers 0249382095.

Meanwhile, Isaac Aryee, the boxer with very strong spirit has started speaking and standing.
