The Youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savelugu-Nanton Municipality, has for the second time, challenged the President’s decision to nominate Hajia Aisha Seidu as the Municipal Chief Executive of the area.

In an issued statement, these agitated youth have stated reasons why they believe Hajia Aisha is not fit for the position as MCE for U the area, as much as the NPP party is concern.

Hajia Aisha who they believe is not a registered voter in either of the two constituencies in the district, has also never participated actively in any of their (NPP) activities in the two constituencies of the Municipality.

The report also says, Hajia Aisha has never contributed either in cash or in kind towards the mobilization of the youth in the Municipality to the best of their knowledge.

Below is a full statement by these aggrieved youth of Savelugu-Nanton municipality.

PRESS RELEASE AGAINST THE NOMINATION OF HAJIA AISHA  SEIDU AS MCE FOR THE SAVELUGU/NANTON MUNICIPALITY.

We the youth wing of the great NPP in the Savelugu – Nanton Municipality are saddened by the latest development regarding the appointment of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Municipality. This development has the tendency of weakening the foundation of the party.

We still stand by our earlier position that Hajia Aisha Seidu is NOT acceptable as the MCE for Savelugu /Nanton Municipal Assembly. Our reason remains UNCHANGED. Which are as follows;

I. Hajia Aisha (Maami) is not a registered voter in either of the two constituencies in the district, namely Nanton and Savelugu constituencies.

II. Hajia Aisha has never participated actively in any NPP activity in any of the 2 constituencies in the Municipality.

III. She is not an active member and she doesn’t even know the location of a single polling station in the constituency.

IV. Hajia Aisha has never contributed either in cash or in kind towards the mobilization of the youth in the Municipality to the best of our knowledge

V. She is not a known party person in the Municipality.

Furthermore, we have gathered intelligence from credible sources that, the regional executives in collaboration with the regional minister are plotting and masterminding  crooked, malicious and malevolent means to rig the elections in favour of Hajia Aisha.   We want to state unequivocally that, such means adopted by the regional team to rig the elections in favour of Hajia Aisha Seidu will be met with stiff resistance from the Party youth and the general public in Savelugu.

Based on the above issues, we want to again use this medium to call on H.E the President of Ghana to take a critical look at the issues raised above to avoid the total destruction of the rank and file of the party in the Municipality.

 

 

The way forward:

We respectfully ask H.E the President to empathise with us and show us the compassion and overwhelming support we have given him all these years by listening  to our cry. At this juncture, we are appealing to all assembly members to reject Hajia Aisha as the president’s nominee for Savelugu / Nanton
