Van Pee donates GH¢14,000 to GBA for Isaac Aryee’s surgery
The Former Minister of Sports under the erstwhile of President John Dramani Mahama led administration, also Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo Constituency, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye (Van Pee, as his Constituents call him) has presented to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), a cash amount of GH¢14, 000, which will help former National Welterweight Champion, Isaac Aryee undergo surgery on a broken neck.
Hon. Vanderpuye who visited Aryee last Sunday at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital, right on his arrival from trip, encouraged Aryee and pledged to assist for his recovery.
On Wednesday, May 10, the hospital administration announced cost involving the needed surgery to restore Isaac’s broken neck.
This, Hon. Vanderpuye upon visiting him and taking care of some expenses earlier, also decided to pay for the surgery to bring Isaac back on his feet.
The surgery which according to the hospital, will cost GH¢14,000 due to the critical nature of the injuries sustained, has finally been paid for, thanks to the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo Constituency.
Isaac Aryee is said to have been knocked down by a vehicle which was drove by an officer of the Mamprobi Police post last week Wednesday afternoon on the Mortuary Road in Accra.
Eyewitnesses say, the police officer drove off without attending to Aryee who got injured after he was knocked down.
He has since been on admission at the Accident ward of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he regained his speech but unable to move his limbs without assistance.
