Ghana Football Business Expo Launched At WTC


The Ghana Football Business Expo (Ghana launch) was held at the World Trade Center in Accra on Wednesday.

Following a successful initial launch in Houston, USA, the Ghana launch event was to introduce the Expo to the local Ghanaian business community.

As like the US event, in attendance was the Minister for Business Development, Ibrahim Mohammed Awal who reiterated the fact that Ghana is open for business, through sports.

He launched the Expo which is slated for June 27th and 30th June respectively in the USA.

Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports represented his sector head, while the Ghana Football Association was represented by Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah.

The United States government is a partner in this initiative, and was represented by Tyrnena Holley, the Trade Head of the US Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Ghana.
Project consultant, Ebo Appiah urged Ghanaians to use the storied football history as a point of reference for business development.

The Ghana Football Business Expo will be held a day prior to the Black Stars’ international friendlies on June 28 against the Mexican National football team and 1st of July against the United States national soccer team.

The Ghana Football Business Expo will be held a day prior to the Black Stars’ international friendlies on June 28 against the Mexican National football team and 1st of July against the United States national soccer team in Hartford, CT.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appaih said the Ghana Football Association considers this EXPO as a big international platform for local companies to market Ghana as the preferred destination for investment in Africa, due to the great exposure by the US media and its associates before and during the international friendlies.

The GFA in partnership with RGG Sports LLC and its partners, brings on the Ghana Football Business EXPO which is proposed to attract investment to Ghana during international engagements.

The past couple of years have seen an influx of American franchises being established in Ghana such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Steak Escape &The Counter(Burger) in the restaurant and fast foods category.

Holiday Inn Hotel and Best Western Hotel, both American hospitality services have been in operations for quite a time.
Tullow Oil, Cargill, General Electric(GE) and others in the oil, processing and power generating industries.

Beyond the business relations are strategic alliances towards curbing terrorist havens on the African continent. There are boundless business potentials to be harnessed.
