First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has commended Bishop and Mrs. Adonteng Boateng of the Divine Word International Ministry in the United States of America, for supporting the bereaved families in the Kintampo rainstorm tragedy.

Bishop Adonteng Boateng and his wife will today March 29, donate an assorted items and a sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000), to the bereaved families of the 19 students who perished in that unfortunate incident.

The First Lady also thanked Bishop and his wife, for their generosity, when they paid a courtesy call on her, whereas, she encouraged them to do more for society.

The couple expressed their appreciation to Mrs. Akufo-Addo for her warm reception, adding that members of their church were moved to make the contribution, when they heard the sad news.

The tragedy which, occurred on Sunday after at the Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong- Ahafo Region claimed 20 lives involving students of the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School and the University of Energy and Natural Resources who were there for excursion and research purposes.

The incident happened at the waterfalls following a downpour which hit the Municipality, last week.
