Assemblyman cautions youth against neighbourhood robbery
The Assembly Member for Apraman in the Ashanti region, Hon. Isaac Marfo has cautioned the youth to desist from neighbouring robbery and focus on their studies.
He disclosed this to the press today, whilst inaugurating the 22 watchdog squad in the community, adding that, the watchdogs would help eradicate drastic robbery and killing in the community and its environs.
On his part, the Deputy Ashanti regional police commander, ACP Ampofo Duku assured that, the police will support these watchdogs in all endeavors and therefore, appealing to the general public to help give information to these security men in other to protect and prevent high crime rate in the society.
The Assistant Commander of the Ashanti regional police service also indicated that, although , the watchdogs have been permitted to operate within the requisite communities but cautioned them to avoid taken the law into their own hands, also urging them to know their do’s and don’ts as they go by their duties.
For some years now, residents living in and around Apraman and its environs have been suffering in the hands of these armed robbers and criminals, which has called for several decisions by the elders of the said communities to called on the Regional security council to help them set up the watchdog to roam during the night, which will help prevent the criminals from operating.
In conclusion, there was a roll call by the police commander making it genuine as they are supposed to be every moment of their meeting.
