Head of vocational skills department at Artisans Association of Ghana Madam Esther Naa Ankrah has lamented that, Ghana Education Service is the cause of high unemployment rate in Ghana.
Madam Esther Naa Ankrah stressed that, years ago, studying life skills as a subject in basic schools prepared students to work on their own to make a living than to depend solely on the government to provide job opportunities
She reiterated, time will come when ICT will reduce the number of persons employed to perform official duties in various offices, at such called on government and the Ghana Education Service GES to bring back life skills into the education syllables to help creat self employment to reduce unemployment and economic hardship in Ghana.
Miss Ankrah made this known during the exhibition of product made by the vocational skills department under the Artisan Association of Ghana yesterday at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region.
