NPP calls on Mahama to concede defeat

The main opposition New Patriotic Party has called on President John Mahama and the ruling NDC to concede defeat in the yet to be declared presidential and parliamentary polls.

According to the party, it has secured over 80% of the results from the various constituencies and are therefore confident of victory in the polls.

At a press conference Thursday morning, the campaign coordinator of the party Peter Mac Manu said there is no way the ruling party can cancel their lead with the rest of the votes left.

The ruling NDC had earlier issued a statement urging its supporters “to continue to remain calm as the ballots make their way to the constituency collation centres. At this moment, a number of radio stations are announcing polling station results, and not constituency tallies.”

Meanwhile, the EC has tweeted :” The colation of results is still ongoing at all constituency collation centers. The commission has not yet received any collated results as the National Collation Center”.
