The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye on behalf of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Government and the people of Ghana has sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to the Black Maidens for their win against America.

The Hon. Minister says by putting their defeat to Japan behind them and moving on to beat America shows a mark of resilience and great determination and charges the players to tackle their upcoming matches with the same vigour.
“There is nothing that is impossible to achieve if you put in maximum effort and the Maidens have just shown that and it is my hope and expectation that they do not allow complacency to set in.

By this victory, they have proved beyond every doubt that where there is a will, there is a way.

They have exemplified what a determined team can do and so I expect them to work harder to overcome any challenges they may encounter along the way.” the Hon. Minister stated.

Hon. Nii Lantey therefore  urged the technical and management teams to work on whatever weaknesses they may identify in the team and ensure that the team is well- prepared in every respect before their matches ahead.
Adding that the journey ahead of the Black Maidens is not easy but with the support and prayers of every Ghanaian, victory is not beyond the team.
